I had known basic knowledge about the internet from my older brothers screwing around on bulletin boards looking for porn on a 14.4 modem in the early 90's, and also from using Prodigy at my aunt's house. However, since my parents never advanced past a 486 Windows 3.1 setup until around 1999 (and they still don't have the internet to this day), I never had any real internet experience until I got my first (and REALLY old at the time) computer in 2001. Once I got that, I entered the wonderful world of surfing on a cable modem and never looked back. To this day, I cringe if I have to use dial-up (and even DSL).

Why I gave up on "Catch-22"
I've picked this book up probably 3-4 times, and yet I've never finished.
It's not that the book isn't good; from where I've read it to (around 100 pages) it's very humorous and entertaining. It just seems to me that it starts getting repetitive, and I start losing track of characters and what's going on. Eventually I'm sure I'll finish it, but it's going to take a LOT of patience and nothing distracting me.
